Ghost Files Restraining Order Against Persistent Medium

A hearing date will be scheduled pending approval for the complaintant to appear via Ouija Board

WILMINGTON — A New Castle woman who passed away in 2019 has filed a restraining order against a local psychic medium who “simply refuses to stop contacting” her.  Court documents faintly scented with sage and sandalwood were filed late Tuesday in Justice of the Peace Court No. 11.

The complaint, written in looping cursive and allegedly delivered “by cold draft,” accuses local psychic medium, Crystal Marvel of Elsmere, of “repeated spiritual trespass and emotional harassment from beyond the veil.”

The dispute began after a séance last spring in which the medium reportedly achieved “exceptional results,” including “table movement, cold drafts, and one minor possession.” Encouraged by her success, she allegedly continued reaching out to the same spirit during subsequent sessions.

> “She’s my most responsive contact,” the medium explained. “If a séance stalls, I just call her up. She always answers.”

The ghost—whose name has been withheld pending exorcism—alleges emotional distress and afterlife exhaustion from repeated summons.

Ms. Marvel, when reached for comment, denied wrongdoing.

> “She called me first,” she said, shuffling through some stones imprinted with runes. “I’m just maintaining contact.”

A court official, Janet Purcell of Bear, speaking on condition of anonymity, admitted uncertainty about how to proceed.

> “We’ve had out-of-state filings before,” she said. “This is our first one from out-of-plane.”

Lacking legal representation, the ghost is appearing pro se, as her attorney, like so many others, is “regrettably is still alive." She added that she’s “keeping her fingers crossed he’ll get what’s coming to him soon.”

A hearing date has yet to be scheduled, pending court approval to allow the complaintant to appear before the court via Ouija Board.
