HOT 60 at 250: America's Sexiest First Ladies in Photos

From Martha to Melania: An Irresponsible Ranking of the USA's Hottest First Ladies

The BwB News Editorial Team has created the definitive ranking of America's Hottest First Ladies. From Martha to Melania, we've got them all covered (and 1 uncovered!) - Did your favorite make the top 10?
Our team considered many factors to arrive at our rankings, but mostly its just stupid, immature, and somewhat disrespectful.  You are welcome, America! 🇺🇸

HOT 60 at 250: 60 - 41

#60 - Martha Washington (1789-1797)

She is the Mother of the country for God's sake, she deserves better than to be included in a crass, sexist exercise like this.  But rules are rules so we are just going to put her here so she can be spared any further indignity.

#59 - Eliza Johnson (1865-1869)

A relatively unpopular First Lady, if simply because she was little-known, Andrew Johnson's wife kept a low profile during his Presidency which came as great news to the early photographers who were spared having to put their cameras at risk.

#58 - Abigail Adams (1797-1801)

Another of America's Founding Mothers. The wife of John Adams was one of the most influential women in early American history.  She and Barbara Bush are the only two women who both were both married to a U.S. president and the mother of a U.S. president.  Unlike Washington, Adams is not ranked this poorly out of respect, she's just a little homely, is all.

#57 - Barbara Bush (1989 - 1993)

Speaking of Barbara Bush, she is up next in our rankings.  Known for her preference to wear blue and dress conservatively, Barbara Bush is, along with Abigail Adams, one of only two women in American history who both were both married to a U.S. president, and the mother of a President. She was also famously likened to George Washington by comedian Robin Williams.

#56 - Margaret "Peggy" Taylor (1849 - 1850)

After marrying then-Lieutenant Zachary Taylor in 1810, according to her bio, she spent her life following her husband from one military camp to another in the remote western wilderness. The years were not easy on Peggy's girlish looks and by the time she was in the White House, she had a stern look like she could bend a horseshoe with her teeth.  For some

#55 - Claudita Alta "Lady Bird" Johnson (1963-1969)

Lady Bird had big shoes to fill when suddenly becoming First Lady - more like she had big feet trying to fill some dainty, fashionable shoes from her predecessor, Jacqueline Kennedy.  According to Wikipedia, as first lady, Johnson broke new ground by interacting directly with Congress, employing her own press secretary, and making a solo electione

HOT 60 at 250: America's Sexiest First Ladies. #40 - #21

40 - Emily Donelson (1829 - 1834, acting)

Even though she was not wordly or educated, Emily Donelson was well received in her social role as acting first lady. The Niece of President Andrew Jackson was thrust into the role after the death of Jackson's wife (#56).  For an unsophisticated lady, she adapted well, dressed wonderfully, and was pretty sexy for her day.

#39 - Mary "Betty" Bliss (1849 - 1850)

"Miss Betty" served as First Lady for her father, Zachary taylor, during official White House functions. At the Inaugural Ball, Betty appeared in a simple white dress with a white flower in her hair, and her naturalness became her trademark. Notice we didnt say "natural beauty", just "naturalness".

#38 - Sarah Polk (1845 - 1849)

Charming, intelligent, and able, Sarah was a trusted advisor to her husband James k Polk, and was the first First Lady to be an active political campaigner. Her beauty, however, was more in the eye of the beholder, our 11th President.

#37 - Margaret Wilson (1914-1915)

Margaret was Woodrow Wilson's Daughter who served the role of First Lady in the period after her here mother's death and Wilson's remarriage to Edith.  Tall, gangly, and near-sighted, she still had a special charm that kept the boys interested.

#36 - Ida McKinley (1897 - 1901)

Ida was the first First Lady to travel abroad while in the role, taking a trip to Juarez, Mexico. Ida also had epilepsy and her husband was very caring and protective of her, often known to cover her face with a handkerchief when a spasm would arise so as not to let others gawk at her distorted face. Then he would remove it when she was ready and continue. Still, mi

#35 - Mary Arthur McElroy (1841 - 1845)

The sister of President Chester A Arthur, Mary liked to host large events at the White House and was popular in society despite her natural shyness and plain looks.  Arthur never acknowledged her as official first lady, but we sure do.
